The Story of Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle was born in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland, to Patrick Boyle, a miner, World War II veteran and singer at the Bishop's Blaize, and Bridget, a shorthand typist, who were both immigrants from Country Donegal, Ireland. She was the youngest of four brothers and six sisters. Born when her mother was 47, Boyle was briefly deprived of oxygen during the difficult birth and was later diagnosed as having learning difficulties. Boyle says she was bullied as a child and was nicknamed "Susie Simple" at school.

I know what they were thinking, but why should it matter as long as I can sing? It's not a beauty contest. ”-Susan Boyle, The Sunday Times.

Boyle was "absolutely gob smacked" by the strength of this reaction. Boyle is aware that the audience on Britain's Got Talent was initially hostile to her because of her appearance, but she has refused to change her image. Since the appearance, Paige has expressed interest in singing a duet with Boyle, and has called her "a role model for everyone who has a dream"

I Dreamed a Dream~ Les Miserables

There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame

He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came

And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.

MEGACITIES : ANGKOR WAT

Hello to all blog reader.. how are you? I hope everything is fine.. Theme that I want to share this week is about Megacities.A megacity is usually defined as a metropolitan area with a total popultion in excess of 10 million people. Some definitions also set a minimum level for population density (at least 2,000 persons/square km). Megacities can be distinguished from global cities by their rapid growth, new forms of spatial population density, and both formal and informal economies, as well as poverty, crime, and high levels of social fragmentation. A megacity can be a single metropolitan area or two or more metropolitan areas that converge.

So,megacities topic that i want to share is about Angkor Wat. Actually,En Fakhzan already asked us to answer several question. So here is the question..

8) What is the main reason for the fall of the Khmer empire ?
The main reason for the fall of the Khmer empire is loss of water control. Khmer seen unwilling to work wholeheartely for the king as a holy service as they had previously did.

9)What contributed to the fall of Angkor?
Contribute falls of Angkor, is because introduction of Theravada Buddahism to Khmer people on 13th century which has challenged Angkorian monarchy as a “god-king” and loss of water control. This happen when Khmer people loss their devotion to 'god-king' and they are not willingly work for their king. Thus, weaken the rice productivity and strength of Angkor empire.

10) How did the Khmer people cultivate rice?
Seasonal rise and fall in the water level allowed local farmers to harvest a variety of 'floating rice'in the lake. It is a fast growing variety that germinates in deep water and grows as much 4 inches in a single day.The rice always stays on the surface because its rate of growth is the same as the rate of which the lake rises.

Okey, all of this is a part of Angkor Wat history. Hope all of you will gain some input from topic for this week..Enjoy your day.. Till then.. Bye..

Indigenous Tribe

INTRODUCTION

Bajau community is the second largest aboriginal ethnic in Sabah also known as t
he Sama community. Bajau culture is very limited and not prolific, particularly the Bajau of Kota Belud. Different phase of settlement has made them settle on land and this has influenced their job pattern or sea activities such as fishing to planting and breeding farm animals. The majority of Bajau community are Muslims, and only few of the sub-ethnic groups of Bajau especially ‘Palau’ practice pagan beliefs. Still other Bajau live a lifestyle between nomadic and sedentary, housed in the villages on the water, not far from land. This house like wood ship called lepa-lepa.

THE TRADITIONAL CUSTOM

The Kota Belud Bajau Horseman are the famous Cowboys of the East. During special occasions, the Bajau Horseman wears a black, sometimes white, long-sleeved shirt called badu sampit . Smart, gold buttons betawi run down the front opening and the shirt is also decorated with silver flowers called intiras . The trousers are more tight-fitting than the bajau bridegroom's seluar sama . The sheath is made of wood and silver. He also carries a spear bujak and a shipping crop pasut . Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Bajau horseman is his horse, or rather pony. This cloth is tied around the pony's legs to keep it in place. Antique brass bells seriau, colourful reins tingalu and bridle kakang all make for a very festive pony costume.

BAJAU DANCER

The Bajau have lost some of their heritage as some of their stories were never re-told to the next generation. The Bajau are also beginning to lose something of their identity as they integrate with their adopted, land-based communities. Even the most traditional, seafaring Bajau are losing their boat-building craft as they replace their hand-made lipa-lipa boats with commercially built, mass-produced ones. On Sabah's southeastern-most coast these lipa-lipa boats are a feature of the annual Semporna festival, for which the boats are colorfully decorated and raced against each other in a celebration of Bajau culture.

DEATH RITUAL

The death rituals called ngeduang ceremony. Ngeduang symbolizes the act of feeding the dead and helping him or her to go on with the new life in the new world. Ngeduang also means the deed of alms by the family of the dead to the poor people and the people who attend the feast. The alms refer to the food called duang. Normally, duang contains few traditional food such as kalas, kuih sinsim, kuih jala’, kuih penjaram, kuih berate, saging randang, kuih wajid, inti’ and also rice and dishes where each will represent something. Besides, the relationship between the explicit and implicit meanings of the duang with the Bajau’s interpretation and perception towards their lives will also be elucidated.

Art

Art is something that can make me feel in calm condition. Many people who loves painting expressing their feeling when producing his art. So that, I like to see it. Art can be divide into two part. Paper art and building art. Paper art is easier compared to building art.

First, let me explained about paper art. Paper art is a painting something at paper by using pencil, pencil colour or watter colour. Many people like to use water colour because it is more beautiful than using other material. Otherwise, you can combine all that material if you are creative.

In other part is building art, building art is more attractive than paper art. People who love this art will travel anywhere to take photo about the building. This art also need many people to construct it. This art need high cost, only certain people can produce it.

For me , I like building art because this art is more complicated to make. I hope you enjoy reading my blog

Internet online newspaper comes from internet sources such as yahoo, google and so on. Meanwhile, sheet newspaper is a set of large folded sheets of printed paper containing news, articles and etcetra. However, internet is the faster ways to get information. In other hand we also can get sheet news paper from everywhere such as shop, restaurant, and many places that sell various thing.

However, sheet newspaper give us many benefit when compared to internet online newspaper. For example, the information comes from sheet newspaper can be trusted and proven. Next, we also can get this everywhere, from village to the town. It also contain attracted article, colourful picture and we also can bring this newspaper to everywhere. Moreover, sheet newspaper is the cheaper source of media. This is a benefit of sheet newspaper eventhough some of our society believe that is this globalization era, sheet newspaper is out of dated when compared to internet online newspaper.

As a conclusion, media is very important and extraordinary source of knowledge to all people. So, we have to grab all the things in front of our eyes in the process of prevent backwardness problem. Don’t miss a boat!
